Slow Stitch Hosts Month of Design Event

COLLECTIVE POWER: September 23rd, 5-9pm

As part of Detroit Month of Design, Slow Stitch presents Collective Power, an immersive exhibition and open studios experience featuring 16 one of a kind jackets created by our inaugural cohort of Detroit based designers and fiber artists. Working collaboratively with reclaimed textiles, indigo, and traditional craft practices, the artists explore the jacket as a symbol of identity, protection, and power while imagining a fashion future rooted in creativity, connection, and care for people and the planet. All jackets will be available through a silent auction, with proceeds supporting participating designers and Slow Stitch’s youth fashion education programs.
