2025-2026 Slow Stitch Cohort

Each year, Slow Stitch welcomes a new cohort of artists and designers into our year-long Artist-in-Residence Program— a shared studio community where creativity, collaboration, and sustainability thrive.

Residents are selected through an application process and join a supportive collective of makers dedicated to building a Slow Fashion future. Together, we share studio space, tools, materials, and monthly feedback gatherings, creating an environment that feels like a self-led master’s program—rooted in practice, reflection, and shared growth.

Within our studio, artists experiment, design, and co-create while contributing to a shared ecosystem of care. Residents exchange time and skills through an internal timebank, and everyone contributes to the collective by sharing what they have—whether that’s materials, knowledge, tools, or community support.

The space includes a free fabric library, a growing collection of inspirational books, and opportunities to host or participate in community events such as monthly mend and upcycle workshops, open studios, and marketplace pop-ups. Many residents also use the space to meet clients and grow their creative practice.

Artists are accepted for a one-year term, with the opportunity to reapply and remain in residence for up to three years as they deepen their practice and continue contributing to the Slow Stitch community.

At Slow Stitch, we are more than a residency—we are a small family of artists walking together, sharing ideas, resources, and inspiration as we reimagine fashion for a more sustainable and equitable world.
